We deliver across the continental US.

We use reusable packaging to maintain delivery of quality products for all our customers. All meat will be frozen when shipped. Most orders will be shipped overnight. If you spend more than $99, you’ll receive free shipping.

We source all of our meat directly from local farmers with whom we have an established relationship in Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio. Our farms are environmentally friendly, so every animal is pasture-raised, humanely handled, and regarded with the highest of care. We take extra steps to ensure our animals are raised as ethically and naturally as possible. Each animal is ASH-free, so it’s free of added antibiotics, steroids, and hormones. While smaller operations tend to have some of their meats sold out, we work closely with our farmers to ensure that our customers’ meat needs are met.

Dry-aged beef simply makes for a more succulent taste. Since we dry-age our beef for 14 days, it helps break down the connective tissue in the muscle so that the meat is a more tender product. Grocery store-bought beef is very rarely dry-aged and an expensive steakhouse beef usually is. As our meat continues to age, it keeps the flavor concentrated so that it has a chance to develop that great taste.

Our animals are grass-fed and grain-finished because the grain helps with marbling, giving it that delicious flavor. Though some meat operations offer 100% grass-fed beef, you tend to lose some of the taste. The grain helps the animal gain weight more quickly, so it produces more tender meat.

While our goal is to ensure every order meets our high standards, we understand that some things are out of our control. If you are not satisfied with your order, please contact us by email or phone within 48 hours of receiving your Black Market box and we will find a way to make it right.

We have a USDA inspector on-site every week to grade our beef and check for proper meat handling. Every customer will receive meat that has a grading of “choice or higher.” Here at Black Market Butcher Shoppe, we want you to know that we aren’t a big factory slaughterhouse with a long assembly line, but each cut of meat that arrives at your table has been thoroughly inspected.

We will allow you to choose the delivery day and time so that you have control over when your meat arrives.

We pack everything With Ice Packs to ensure that it will stay frozen for 3-4 days, so even if your box experiences a short shipping delay, everything will still taste great.

Yes, you can place individual orders! It’s not required to subscribe. While some meat operations make you subscribe or become a member before you can order their meat, here at Black Market, we want you to be able to purchase meat as easily as possible. We offer one-time purchase orders as well as subscriptions. Additionally, any single order can be turned into a subscription. You may also check out as a guest so you don’t have to deal with any of the extra steps.

Yes, every slice of meat is sourced from three states: Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana.
